The only caveat that we add to the “read reviews” advice, is to take some of the typical negative comments with a pinch of salt. If there’s a strong trend of lots of negative comments then absolutely take that advice as a strong indicator that the product isn’t up to scratch, but if you’ve got 150 good reviews and 2 negative, you’ve probably just got a particularly difficult to please customer, or they had a defective product.
